José Pedro Trindade teaches ICT and Thinking Skills at Aspire International School. Born in South Africa and based in Tavira for over 30 years, José brings a strong blend of academic, professional, and practical experience to the classroom.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Universidade Lusófona and a Master’s degree in IT Teaching from the University of Lisbon. José has taught in both international and public schools across Portugal and also has extensive industry experience, having worked with companies such as Apple and Microsoft.
Alongside his teaching career, José has spent more than 25 years coaching basketball at clubs throughout the Algarve. He is passionate about helping students develop digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and confidence in using technology.

What do you enjoy most about teaching ICT and Thinking Skills?
Answer:
I enjoy helping students understand how technology works and how it can be used creatively and responsibly. It is especially rewarding to see students go from simply using technology to understanding it, questioning it, and even creating their own solutions.
Why are Thinking Skills important for students’ future?
Answer:
Thinking Skills help students learn how to analyse problems, evaluate information, and make informed decisions. These abilities are essential not only in technology, but in everyday life. They help students become independent thinkers who can adapt to new challenges and opportunities.
What is your goal when teaching students about technology?
Answer:
My goal is to give students confidence and competence in using technology, while also helping them understand its impact on the world. Technology is constantly evolving, so it is important that students develop curiosity and the ability to learn new skills throughout their lives.
