A good teacher isn’t someone who gives the answers out to their kids but is understanding of needs and challenges and gives tools to help other people succeed.
Michelle Faisca Q&A
What do you enjoy most about teaching Year 1?
Answer:
Year 1 is such an exciting stage, as children are developing independence and confidence every day. I love seeing their enthusiasm for learning and the pride they feel when they master new skills, whether it is reading their first book or solving a maths problem on their own.
What is most important in Year 1?
Answer:
Building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy is key, but just as important is helping children feel secure and confident in the classroom. At this age, learning should be engaging, supportive, and full of encouragement so that students develop a lifelong love of learning.
How do you create a positive learning environment?
Answer:
I create a calm, structured classroom where children know what to expect and feel safe to try new things. Through praise, patience, and creativity, I encourage each child to grow at their own pace while celebrating their individual strengths.
