Originally from Ireland, Janet teaches Business and Economics, bringing a wealth of real-world experience. After earning her degree in Business and Finance, she worked in the corporate sector before successfully running her own business for over 15 years. Her transition to education began with a role as a teaching assistant, where Janet discovered a passion for teaching. This inspired her to pursue and complete a postgraduate qualification in education, leading to a full-time teaching career. Janet loves being part of the AIS community, where the small class sizes and holistic approach make every day rewarding. She is passionate about helping each child reach their full potential, both academically and personally, and takes pride in creating a classroom environment that’s supportive, inspiring, and full of enthusiasm for learning.

What do you enjoy most about teaching Business and Economics?

Answer:

I enjoy helping students understand how the world around them works, from how businesses operate to how everyday financial decisions affect their lives. It’s rewarding to see them begin to think critically and apply what they learn to real situations.

Life Skills give students the tools they need to navigate the real world with confidence. Whether it’s managing money, communicating effectively, or making responsible decisions, these skills help students become independent and capable young adults.

I hope students leave my classroom feeling confident in their ability to make informed decisions and understand the opportunities available to them. My goal is to prepare them not just for exams, but for life beyond school.
