Bethany’s passion for drama began in her own childhood. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts in 2019, followed by a PGCE in Secondary Drama in 2021. Bethany believes drama gives students a powerful way to communicate ideas and express emotions, and she places strong emphasis on practical exploration within her lessons.
Her aim is to share the joy, confidence, and self-belief that theatre can bring to children and young people, both on and off the stage.

What inspired you to teach drama and humanities?
Answer:
I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and understanding people. Drama and humanities allow students to explore history, culture, and human experience in a meaningful way, helping them develop confidence and a broader perspective.
What life skills do students gain from your lessons?
Answer:
Students learn how to communicate clearly, work as part of a team, and think critically. They also develop confidence in expressing their ideas and learn to respect different viewpoints.
How do you incorporate mindfulness into your teaching?
Answer:
I encourage students to pause, reflect, and be present in the moment. Whether through breathing exercises, reflection, or creative activities, mindfulness helps students stay calm, focused, and ready to learn.
