Humanities teacher, Secondary teacher, Science teacher, GCSE teacher, Biology teacher, A-level teacher
Amy worked in marine research and as an environmental consultant before training as a teacher. She was awarded a PhD in Marine Ecology from the National University of Ireland and is a firm believer in the benefit of field work in teaching and learning biology. Amy worked for ten years teaching secondary science and biology in the state sector in the south west of England. She then moved to international teaching, spending 4 years at a large well established IB school in Hanoi, Vietnam. She loves to run and to be outside in Nature and so was keen to move to the cleaner air and better climate of Portugal. In her teaching she hopes to enthuse her students with a love of living things and a respect for themselves, each other and the planet.
