Aspire International School was filled with colour, music, and excitement this past weekend as we celebrated Carnaval both at school and in the lively streets of Quarteira! 🇵🇹✨

🎭 A Day of Fun and Learning at School

On Friday, our primary students embraced the spirit of Carnaval in a fun-filled, educational celebration. Arriving at school in costumes inspired by ancient civilisations, they beautifully connected the festivities to their ongoing classroom projects. 🏛️⚔️📜 The students enjoyed: 🎭 A vibrant parade around the school showcasing their creative costumes 🎶 Dancing to festive Carnaval music 📖  An engaging presentation by Miss Rita on the history and customs of Carnaval, helping students understand the significance of this beloved Portuguese tradition It was a day full of joy, creativity, and cultural appreciation, bringing history to life while celebrating a cherished part of Portugal’s heritage. 🎉 Representing AIS at the Quarteira Street Carnaval

Quarteira Carnaval Parade

The celebrations continued into the weekend as Aspire International School proudly took part in the Quarteira Carnaval Parade on Saturday! 🎊 🌟 A huge congratulations to Miss Micaela, Miss Lynette, Katja, Marie-Claude (two of our wonderful AIS mums), and all the students who participated. Your energy, enthusiasm, and incredible representation of our school made us all so proud! 💖 A special thank you to Associação Talentos Unidos for inviting us to be part of this unforgettable experience. Carnaval is not just about fun—it’s an opportunity to connect with the local community, celebrate Portuguese culture, and create lasting memories for our students. 🎭✨ What an amazing weekend of learning, laughter, and community spirit! Aspire International School in The Loulé Carnival

The Loulé Carnival, with a rich history spanning over a century, stands as one of Portugal’s most celebrated and enduring pre-Lenten festivals. Dating back to 1906, this annual event has evolved into a vibrant showcase of culture and tradition, attracting thousands of revellers to the streets of Loulé each year.

The carnival is renowned for its elaborate parades featuring intricately decorated floats, energetic samba groups, and participants adorned in colourful costumes. The Avenida José da Costa Mealha becomes the heart of the festivities, pulsating with music, dance, and joyous celebration.

This year, Aspire International School is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for our community to immerse themselves in this cultural extravaganza. We have been graciously invited by Mud@ki E9G, a prominent participant in the Loulé Carnival, to join their ensemble for the upcoming parade.

Mud@ki E9G is a commendable social inclusion initiative based in Almancil, dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youth through various educational and cultural activities.

We are excited to offer three exclusive spots for Aspire parents or students aged 16 and above who have a passion for samba, carnival festivities, and community engagement. Participants will have the chance to represent our school, support Mud@ki’s mission, and experience the carnival from an insider’s perspective.

Event Details:

• Parade Dates: March 2, 3, and 4
• Time: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Parade begins at 2:30 PM)
• Theme: Water 🌊 (costumes provided by Mud@ki)
• Practice Session: February 9, 6:00 PM in Loulé

To ensure adequate preparation, we kindly request interested individuals to confirm their participation by this Friday. Spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
